Welcome to Parish Advent Resources, a seasonal Web site from Loyola Press providing an array of resources to help you celebrate the Advent season.

During the four weeks of Advent, we prepare for the celebration of Christ’s birth through prayer, reflection, and family traditions. We light Advent wreaths and keep Advent calendars. We contemplate the First Coming of Jesus as Savior, and anticipate his promised Second Coming. And amid the flurry of Christmas preparations and the stress that invariably comes with the end of the calendar year, we look for practical ways to observe the holiness of the season in our everyday lives.

This site features a variety of free Advent resources for parents, children, and the whole parish community. Explore these pages to find a free online Ignatian Retreat for individuals, featuring guided readings for Advent and Christmastime; an online Advent calendar; articles and activities on topics such as how to bless your family’s Advent wreath; and links to Catholic charities. You’ll also find a special discount of 30% off a selection of our Advent titles.

Another resource we offer is the Advent newsletter which can provide your parish adults with heartfelt and practical ideas for deepening their personal spirituality during the Advent season (the newsletters are also available in Spanish).

Advent—Waiting for Jesus: Bring your parish family together to celebrate the season of Advent and to build community in an intergenerational event. It's a wonderful opportunity to involve people who may not always participate in parish activities. Parishioners of all ages can make a valuable contribution to the parish catechetical mission by lending their talents and time to this event.
